5.0 CONCLUSION

5.1 Overview of the objectives

This research had identify the objectives of the reason of male teenagers involved in drug addiction at Pusat Serenti Tiang Dua, Malacca. There are four reasons that can contribute and influence the male teenagers involved in drug addiction which are family crisis, peers influence, society and teenager itself. The researchers conduct this study by create the twenty questionnaires to the sixty respondents including various types of questions such as the researcher used open-ended question and closed-ended questions which is consist of likert scale, category and yes or no questions. The questionnaires have been distributed to the sixty respondents.

5.2 Restatement of the objectives

As mentioned earlier in the introduction the purpose of this study was to recognize whether peers influence, teenagers itself, society and family crisis influence the male teenagers involved in drug addiction at Pusat Serenti Tiang Dua, Malacca.

5.3 Review of the finding

The following conclusions can be drawn based on the findings of the study:

1) The reason of male teenager involved in drug addiction is peers influence stated most of respondent agreed that friends can easily influence them. Meanwhile most of the respondents reveal that they are agreed they take the drugs in group.

2) The society also reveals the finding which most of respondents agreed that society accepts them upon completion of treatment while majority of the respondents agreed that society really cares about teenagers.

3) Furthermore, in the family crisis most of the respondents disagreed with the statement that parents always underestimate them. Meanwhile most of the respondent strongly disagreed that the arguments between parents stress them out.

4) The last reason is teenager itself which most of the respondents strongly agreed that they are not regret when taking drugs. Moreover, most of the respondents strongly disagreed that they not scared being arrested by local authority. Meanwhile, most of the respondents strongly agreed that they do not care the other people’s perception about drugs.

5.4 Limitation of the study

5.4.1 Lack of Cooperation

One of the limitations of the study is lack of cooperation from the respondents. The researcher has the problem in giving the clear instruction to the respondents because part of them has lowest level of education to understand the questionnaires given to them. The other constraint that the researchers face is respondents does not give correct answer while answering the questionnaires form.

5.4.2 Time Constraint

The present study was limited by time constraint. Apart from that, the researchers also have to find a suitable time to meet the respondents because the time is always clashed with their activities. It takes time for researchers to set a specific time to complete the research.

5.4.3 Respondents

The researchers have been choosing male teenagers in Pusat Serent Tiang Dua, Malacca as respondents. There have 102 dwellers in this rehabilitation centre. The constraints that the researchers face is only 60 respondents will involve in this study to answer the questionnaires.
